ALBERTA - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

EDMONTON, Alberta May 29th

Danielle Smith's United Conservative Party (UCP) won the Alberta provincial election on Monday May 29th, capturing another four years in power, in Canada's largest oil-producing region, and immediately fired a shot at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over climate change.

"My fellow Albertans we need to come together no matter how we have voted to stand shoulder to shoulder against soon to be announced Ottawa policies that would significantly harm our provincial economy," Smith said.

Smith previously stated Alberta is the economic engine of Canada and continues to be open for business. On Thursday March 2nd 2023, Smith joined Alberta Enterprise Group members to deliver a keynote address and provide remarks about Budget 2023.

"We've made investments in a wide range of industries from energy to agriculture, tourism to tech and innovation and our strong economy, quality of life, abundant opportunities and affordable childcare are encouraging people from across Canada and around the world to make Alberta their home," Smith said.

In her victory speech, Smith reiterated her committment to Alberta's growth, "I want to tell every business owner and investor listening tonight, whether doing business inside or outside of Alberta, we are throwing our doors wide open for businesses large or small."

"This is going to be a very positive economic boost for Alberta and Albertans, current and new. A government which supports business with low and stable tax rates, a definite plan moving forward to help the everyday families living here and a majority to back it up, Premier Danielle Smith will make Alberta great again!," says John Walper, CEO of PowwwerSoft.
